Reaction Mechanisms
Reaction mechanisms can be obtained from the research literature. Caveat
emptor, do your own validation against experimental data.
- A library of mechanisms
(from the literature) is now (7/9/99) publicly available. Please cite the
original references and use the results of simulations prudently.
Limitations of these mechanisms can only be found through careful validation
against experimental data. Results of our validation tests
against shock tube experiments is provided in some cases.
- The Gas Research Institute has sponsored the development of a
mechanism, GRI-MECH for
natural gas combustion that is the starting point for many hydrocarbon
combustion simulations.
- Cantera format input files (cti) for Windows and Linux are available for selected mechanism, as well as detailed instructions for converting legacy files.
